Year 8 make right choices as they enjoy Retreat Day

Year 8 pupils visited Lower Site last week (Friday, January, 19), as they took time out from normal lessons to take part in a Retreat Day.

The theme of the Retreat was, Making the Right Choices, and the purpose was to provide the pupils with time to think about the choices they make day-to-day.

Our Year 8s had opportunities for prayer and reflection, as well as fun and lively activities all surrounding the theme of the day.

Overseeing the event was Sacred Heart Chaplain, Miss Jackson, who explained more about the day.

“The pupils took part in sessions that focussed on making the right choices, the outcomes of our choices and the fact that consequences can be both positive and negative.
“All our Year 8s engaged well with the activities, particularly the collaborative ones. They showcased some real respect and cooperation amongst their peers.
“The pupils were given the opportunity, during their sessions, to put into action what they had explored whilst on Retreat and it was a real pleasure to see them feeling so proud of themselves for the choices they were making.” Miss Jackson
